Pamela M. Hebert

Pamela M. Hebert is a former public elementary school teacher who taught at Hickam Air Force Base in Hawai'i from 1988 to 1997. Inspired by the curious, resilient children who passed through her classroom, she began writing stories and plays to enrich their lessons — often weaving creativity into science, history, and language arts.

One such story gave rise to The Inexplicable Events of Elliot Finley, about a magnetic and quietly brave girl whose suppressed gifts — and the bullying she endures — draw her and two classmates into dangerous, otherworldly realms.

Pamela is also the author and illustrator of The Dragonlittles, a pre-K picture book that teaches the order of rainbow colors through playful dragon characters.

The Story Behind the Story

What began as classroom enrichment — stories written to spark curiosity in young minds — grew into a 72-chapter novel with a life of its own. Elliot Finley refused to stay on the page. She demanded a world, and Pamela built her one.

Oak Court Press is a book boutique — a place where stories are presented with the same care and craftsmanship as the writing itself. Every page, every image, every animation on this site was designed to make you feel like you're stepping into the story.
